More fun stuff!

As the date gets closer, so does the bride's stress level! AHHH!!!! The groom is holding up well so far.

Okay, so there are 4 rooms left at the Candlewyck House for the wedding weekend (June 26 & 27). It is across the street from the reception and as you can see it is really cute so it couldn't be more perfect. Since the wedding is the weekend before 4th of July you'll really want to make sure that you find have a place to stay soon. Sorry if you are tired of me going on about this.

The Candelwyck House's phone number is 231.869.5967

***My sister Kris and her awesome husband Carl have generously offered to host a cocktail party for us the evening before the wedding! Their Pentwater cottage is located at 365 n. Wythe (near Hanover street). If you are in town on Friday June 26th, come on over for drinks and appetizers between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. FUN FUN*****

Also, on Friday night, anyone interested can meet up at the Antler Bar (283 S Hancock St in Pentwater) around 8:00 pm. The Antler has food and drinks so this will work for anyone that may need a later dinner that night.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

See you in 3 months!

Book your room now!

Hi everyone!

Most people have RSVP'ed by now. If you haven't, please do so by 3.31.09. I really want to make sure there are enough chairs and things to eat and drink for everyone. Please don't make me hunt you down!

I bought a dress! We are also getting very close to figuring out the centerpieces and other details. This is a lot of work but I think it will make for a really fun time.

Planning your Pentwater Trip

Hey everyone! This snowy weather is making me daydream about warm weather and summer fun on Lake Michigan. I thought I would share some of my favorite places in and near Pentwater. If you are coming to the wedding, these are places you should be sure to check out:

Old Baldy
No, I don't mean Jeremy! ha ha! Old Baldy is a giant sand dune in Charles Mears State Park. I don't think a summer has gone by since I was old enough to walk that I haven't climbed ALL the way up to the top of Old Baldy and then run all the way down it at top speed at least once. When I was little, there was a primitive foot trail up to the top, now there are wooden stairs and an overlook. It is worth all the huffing and puffing for that amazing view of Lake Michigan. Be sure to take off your shoes at the top of the dune before you go barreling down-- and watch out for sticks!

Bortell's Fisheries
Jeremy loves the fresh seafood and I love the history and notalgia of Bortell's. This is a great place to get smelt, perch, and whitefish- all caught in Lake Michigan to go (fresh or smoked), or fried on site and and enjoyed at a picnic table in front. Bortell's is an old-fashioned road side fish stand. The Bortell family has been in the business for over 100 years, moving only once and only as far as across the street! The place looks like it is frozen in time and there are great old photos on the wall documenting the family's history in the fish biz. Bortell's is only open Memorial Day to Labor Day, so if you have a chance, be sure to check it out: 5528 South Lakeshore Drive Ludington, MI 49431. PH: 231-843-3337

Summit Township Park
The state park beach does not allow dogs but Summit Park Beach between Pentwater and Ludington does! Enzo loves jumping in the waves and fetching sticks here. Since it is off the beaten path, it is also less crowded in the middle of summer than the state park. http://www.getoffthecouch.info/mason/summit.htm
Have a great weekend everyone!

Reception and Ceremony Locations (and Registry info!)

Hey again everyone,
I thought I'd clear things up: The reception location is still at the Ida Jean Guest House at 379 E. Lowell Street in Pentwater
http://www.idajean.com/ Here is a picture of the Ida Jean. Cute, huh?
The ceremony will take place at the Village Green (pictured in the post below).
The Village Green is in the center of town on Hancock Street between 2nd Street and 3rd Street.

I have had some people ask where we are registered. We are registered at Target, JCPenney, and Campmor.com.

Here are the direct links to our registries:
